Parliament election schedule in first week of November 2018: EC secretary

Schedule for 11th parliament election 2018 will be announced in the first week of November, said election commission (EC) secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed on Thursday.

The commissioner said this to the newsmen at the Nirbachan Bhaban (election building) in the capital.

Chief election commissioner said `the election schedule will be announced in the first week of November'.

Replying to a question the secretary said that the EU delegation wants to see a free, fair, inclusive and participatory election in Bangladesh.

The delegation was assured from the EC that all necessary measures will be taken in this regard.

Responding to another question, the EU team expressed their interest to know about EVM (electronic voting machine), election observers, manpower, law enforcement agencies, the process of voting from abroad and voter list.
